Burn CD/DVD
There are three ways to start burning process:
1) Go to "Disc Write disc..." in menu.
2) Use the button in toolbar:
3) Use the "Burn"-Button in middle toolbar. If you click the small arrow located at the right side of the button, you can choose different functions for this button. By default it will perform a "quick burn", which starts burning immediately using the settings you can change in settings dialog.
Usually you don't have to care about the settings if you just want to burn a CD/DVD and you can hit the "Write disc" button if you didn't choose "quick burn" anyway.
Automatically shut down the PC when done: Shuts down your PC after burning process. You can also change this option during burning.
Eject disc after writing is finished: You can change the default value in settings.
Writing Speed: You can change the write speed here, if the automatically detected speed is not the one you want to use.
Test Write: If this is activated, there will only be a test write, nothing will be burned on CD. You can activate this option by default in settings.
Use Buffer Protection: Activating this setting protects you against buffer underrun errors. These errors often occur on slow systems and may cause that the burned CD/DVD is not useable.
Finalize Disc: Activate this, to make further writing on disc impossible. You should not do this, if you want to continue the disc later.
Auto-Verify File Data: If this setting is activated, the burned files will be checked for errors. This is important if you want to create backups safely.
DVD High compatibility: This will cause a higher compatibility to old DVD readers. It does not matter in this case how big the data was you added to layout, at least 1GB data will be burned.
Mode 2XA instead of Mode1: Mode 2XA is recommended for audio and video, mode 1 for usual data. So in most cases you don't need to change this option. Mode 2/XA only works for CD-R(W)s.
Cache Image before writing: Creates a local temporary file including all files that are to be burned on disc. This may be useful, if the files are from different locations (like CD) but is unnecessary if you only burn files from harddisc.
Information about bootable discs is also available.
